Seattle

Seattle, Washington Travel Journal | You've Got Flair

I got a little taste of Seattle and have been craving more ever since.

There is so much to love about this city, but I was especially stunned by the view of Mount Rainier. You can see it towering over the city from just about anywhere. I also loved the focus on health and outdoor activities in such a technology-driven city.

To Eat & Drink

TulioAn award-winning upscale Italian restaurant.

Sushi KashibaIf you’re into sushi, then this restaurant should be top of the list for authentic Japanese cuisine. The chef trained under Jiro Ono of the documentary Jiro Dreams of Sushi.

Bar MelusineA small seafood restaurant with beautiful green nautical decor.

Dahlia BakeryA cute little bakery in downtown Seattle that will satisfy any sweet tooth.

Bateau – Right next door to Bar Melusine, Bateau is a small bistro-style steakhouse with a great atmosphere.

To Do & See

Pike Place Market – Public market, open 365 days a year, selling everything from flowers to fish.

Market Theater Gum Wall – Worth a walk-by to see this massive (kind of gross?) wall full of used gum.

Chihuly Garden & Glass Museum – If you’re a fan of Chihuly then this is a must-see.

Space NeedleThis is worth the wait and the views of Seattle are incredible.

Volunteer Park Conservatory – A small historic greenhouse at Volunteer Park. Right outside is the Volunteer Park Dahlia Garden, which is not to be missed when in season!

Seattle Japanese GardenA Japanese urban sanctuary with winding paths, benches, and gorgeous colors.

Museum of Pop Culture – A colorful (and very well designed) museum dedicated to contemporary popular culture.
